Hanging with dad

We just had to snap this picture when we saw him grinning away. We smile plenty too just looking at and watching him - he's a lot of fun.

Munchkin in a swing

Baby John's about a month old here, and he's loving his swing. He's pretty small in the swing, so we put blankets around him to keep him nice and snug in there. He loves the rocking motion - actually pretty much any motion - and it's fun to watch him in there.

How cute am I?!!!

We've been so lucky with the little guy so far. He seems to be a very happy baby who only gets upset when he's hungry or when things are covering his eyes! Otherwise, he just kind of looks around and is content being held by mom or dad. We love him tons and tons.

Deep in thought

Baby John's a little over three weeks old here, and he's at it again making funny signs with his hands. We think he's either doing his best Austin Powers impression or practicing telling his friends to call him later in life.

Learning to love baths

Little guy seems to enjoy baths as he's getting older. He doesn't mind the water on him, so hopefully that attitude continues. Here he is with his cool hooded towel on after a bath - check him out!

My hat is too big!

We love to dress him in all his cute clothes, but unfortunately all his hats (except the one he got from the hospital) are still too big for him. Oh well, he'll grow into them too!

Love the car seat

Baby John loves his car seat. He gets in there and starts moving and he's out like a light. We hope he stays that way. In this picture he's about 2 weeks old and is quite the munchkin compared to the size of the seat. That's ok - he'll grow into it!

Say what?

We don't always know where he's looking, but we imagine he's seeing and somehow probably conversing with angels - it's pretty special to have a baby in the home.

Look at me!

Less than two weeks old, the little guy is showing off his muscles after a diaper change.

He's a sound sleeper!

John is about one week old in these pictures. He's quite a sound sleeper, especially during the day. We think he's got his days and nights mixed up, as he can sleep through anything in the day, but fusses a bit more (not bad though) at night. Also, he regularly puts his arms and hands in funny positions when he sleeps - who knows what he's dreaming about?!

Flowers

People were so nice to us and came to visit us at the hospital after the birth. We were so impressed by, and grateful for, everyone's generosity that we had to take a few pictures of the flowers people gave us - they were extremely pretty.

I want that binky!

Hey, give me that binky! Baby John sure does love his bink, and usually falls asleep not long after it goes in his mouth.

What a cute little guy!

Here's the little dude at about one day old. He came out with blond hair and blue eyes, and a fairly mild temperament. He was very content to sleep, eat, and do his business the first while after he was born.

Just before the first bath

Baby John snoozing away just before his first bath, about two hours after he was born. He wasn't too happy to have his sleep interrupted, and he pretty much wailed throughout the bath. But as soon as it was done, he fell right back asleep.

Mama holding John

Here's an equally proud, and tired, mom with the miracle she helped bring into the world.

Proud Papa

Here's dad with little guy just minutes after his birth - what an amazing feeling to be holding our new little bundle of joy!

Baby John is here!

Baby John was born Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11:44 PM. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. and measured 19.5 inches long. He immediately let us all know that his lungs work perfectly well!
